The Maple Bear global family is expanding to Central and Eastern Europe

Posted in Global Family on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018

Maple Bear Global Schools is excited to announce a new partnership with Rocket Education to create Maple Bear Central & Eastern Europe which will bring Maple Bear Canadian schools into Central & Eastern Europe.

Maple Bear Global Schools President Rodney Briggs and James Briggs, Director of Finance and Business Development, travelled to Sofia, Bulgaria in May to sign the new Master Franchise agreement.

“Canadian education has an excellent reputation in this region,” says Rodney.

“Canada continues to be viewed as a modern developed country that ranks extremely high in the OECD’s PISA rankings because of our excellent education system.”

The economies of Eastern and Central Europe countries have been developing at a rapid rate for the past decades. Local companies are expanding in international markets and international corporations are setting up offices locally. This dynamic has increased the demand for locally-based global citizens speaking fluent English.

“There is demand for our schools among the growing middle class who are highly educated professionals,” Rodney believes. “These parents are seeking out the key elements of what Maple Bear offers: a modern education system that will engage their children in critical thinking, and will strengthen their English language skills.”

Our partner, Rocket Education, is a company run by experienced entrepreneurs with in-depth knowledge of both the region and Canadian culture, led by Yann Bidan. Yann will also support Maple Bear Eastern & Central Europe as the General Manager with Virginia Momtchilova, the Operations & Communications Director.

“Experienced with executive roles in French, American & Canadian companies, we highly value the Canadian methodology and culture when it comes to training future leaders,” our new partners shared.

“Our understanding of the Canadian approach, combined with our belief that education is the strongest tool that can positively impact our future are the ideal components for making this new partnership the right fit for all parties.”

Welcome to the Maple Bear family!
