Welcome to Maple Bear Korea

Posted in Global Family on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018

Korea is a country steeped in rich history and is shaped by ancient Asian traditions. Its economy has made huge strides in the last 40 years with its embrace of modern technology. The strong emphasis placed on education is a fundamental factor to Korea’s tremendous growth and success.

Maple Bear Songpa was one of the first campuses to open in 2006, has established itself as a landmark in one of the most affluent areas in Seoul.

The Maple Bear Korea family is now twelve strong with locations in Seoul (2), Gyeonggi-do (5), Daegu City (2), Daejeon, Sejong, and Busan.

In a country of over 50 million people, education is a key indicator of success in the Korean mindset. Among Korean parents, Canadian education is very highly regarded. Many have actually travelled to Canada to either receive or have their children experience the world-class education first-hand.

Crystal Han, the Managing Director at Maple Bear Korea says, “With such familiarity of Canada, the Maple Bear campuses in Korea have thrived since its first launch in 2006 and have become one of the dominant brands for students between 4 to 7 years of age. Parents select Maple Bear knowing that their child will get quality and excellence in education.”

And the outlook for continued growth is positive.

“The main reason why we foresee growth is that English is becoming a necessity in the country as its presence on the global stage becomes greater and greater each year. The local public schools offer English starting in grade 3 but programs through private institutions start from age 5,” says Han.

Being in Korea for the last 12 years, Maple Bear has upheld its commitment to educating the whole child and making them lifelong learners. Korean parents know this and continue to choose Maple Bear as their child’s gateway into formal education.
