Academic Quality Assurance Reviewer Contract Position

Maple Bear is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and passionate Quality Assurance Reviewer (Academic) to uphold our commitment to academic excellence by ensuring our educational standards and instructional practices consistently meet the highest benchmarks. This role focuses on academic quality assurance.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Quality Assurance Reviewer (Academic), you will support Maple Bear schools worldwide by conducting comprehensive academic quality assurance reviews aligned with Maple Bear’s global standards and Canadian educational methodology. This is a contract-based position with flexible scheduling, ideal for retired or soon-to-retire Canadian educators who wish to continue making a meaningful contribution to education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and assess academic content, instructional delivery, and program implementation to ensure alignment with Maple Bear global standards and local curriculum requirements.
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs and observations to examine instructional practices across Maple Bear program domains.
- Review lesson plans, assessments, instructional materials, and other academic documentation using an evidence-based approach.
- Engage in professional dialogue with school leadership and educators to gain insight into teaching and learning practices.
- Provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback to school leadership to support continuous academic improvement.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop School Improvement Plans, including SMART goals and action plans.
- Monitor compliance with Maple Bear pedagogical frameworks and academic quality standards.
Quality Assurance Reviewers do not evaluate individual teachers or staff. Personnel evaluation remains the responsibility of the school.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
This role is well suited for experienced Canadian school leaders who are passionate about instructional excellence and educational quality assurance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Be a Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Have been employed full-time in a Canadian school within the last five (5) years.
- Hold a Master of Education (MEd) or higher from a Canadian institution.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Canadian school leadership role (e.g., Principal, Vice-Principal, Academic Director).
- Possess and maintain teacher certification from a Canadian Provincial Regulatory Body.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct evidence-based academic reviews.
- Show a deep passion for education and instructional quality.
- Be willing and able to travel, including international school visits.
- Maintain a valid passport.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
- Participate in virtual and self-directed online training related to the MBQA process and platform.
- Conduct academic quality assurance reviews in alignment with Maple Bear timelines and protocols.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with school leadership teams across diverse global contexts.
